ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

An historic crossroads between Europe and Africa, Sicily offers a rich and diverse cultural history. The Carthaginians and Moors ruled here, as well as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Spanish and eventually the Italians. The mild, dry climate and a lack of large-scale development have enabled its treasures to remain well-preserved and the architecture of,the cities, towns and villages are a marvel.

We will meet in Palermo and begin our journey along the coastline, traveling to the seaside city of Marsala at the western tip of Sicily. After several days in the Marsala area, we will explore another idyllic coastal town, Castellamare del Golfo.

In addition to a rich history and culture, Sicily also offers a whole new world of Italian cuisine and natural beauty. We'll explore it all in the Esperienza Way, with our local host, Diego.
